Foreign Investment Review Board…
Most major and second tier lenders will accept foreign borrowers & income at face value up to a loan to value ratio (LTV) of 80%. Normal employment criteria applies, i.e. stability, type of employment, etc. Anything beyond 80% LTV introduces the Mortgage Insurers who will not accept any foreign income for loans beyond 80% LTV.
For foreign investors, Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) approval is required when purchasing established property in Australia.
